The Saga of Spacebar

The story of Spacebar begins 11 years ago in Boise, Idaho, on the planet Earth. Wishing to explore the cosmos, the crew set their course for the galaxy’s next habitable planet Kepler-22b. Residing in the Cygnus constellation and cygnus being the genus for swan, the crew takes the moniker of “Legion of Cygnus.” Adopting the iconography of the Black Swan, representing something that was once thought impossible, becoming possible. The 640 light year journey proves arduous, however, culminating in the ship crashing on their new home world. From the wreckage the crew builds a bar and print shop, stocked with relics of entertainment from their previous world. This includes arcade cabinets, pinball machines, and gaming consoles. Here the Legion of Cygnus begins to flourish in its fresh and futuristic setting.

The Legion of Cygnus is composed of Spacebar’s community and supporters. This includes the staff (also known as the crew), and enthusiasts of video games, pinball, music, culture and art. In the fictional lore of Spacebar, they are followers of an ideal, a dream of what the future can be in all its technological glory. Looking to the past, the Legion of Cygnus charts the future. But how do wanderers find this mythical location in the great sea of stars? They need only to look to the sky and listen to the heavens. A never-ending beacon emanates from the Legion’s home of Kepler-22b; a warm invitation to all those who wish to find like-minded souls that share their love of the universe and its endless prospects.

When one comes aboard Spacebar, they are transported to a tech noir/cyberpunk world reminiscent of Blade Runner or The Matrix. Ancient alien artifacts mingle with advanced AI technology. As an "open source" space, the bar invites creatives to join in the advancement of the environment by adding to the experience with their expertise. Spacebar's maxim is: "Keep one foot planted in nostalgia while the other steps firmly toward the future."

If you love vintage as well as new indie video games, good drinks and music, and a colorful and friendly atmosphere, come down to the arcade underground where neon lights usher you into an entertaining and futuristic world.
